Open University Symposium: Ingeborg Reichle talks at the ZKM symposium „Art in Motion“
On January 11, 2019 Ingeborg Reichle will contribute to the Open University Symposium „Art in Motion“ at the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe with a lecture on “New(Bio)Media Art: Speculating about the 21st Century Art Museum” as part of the exhibition “Art in Motion. 100 Masterpieces with and through Media”. The symposium takes the topic of the exhibition – the history of the development of media art – as a starting point for discussing the future of media arts in the age of digitalization and raises the following questions: What effects do the current technological developments of digitalization have on media art institutions? How can these challenges be addressed? What new approaches are there to speak of a global media art that undermines a Western dominated art canon? What new developments in digital media art can be observed recently, and what effects do these innovations have on our society?
