Nina Jukić holds a research position in the arts-based research project Reset the Apparatus! Retrograde Technicity in Artistic Photographic and Cinematic Practices, financed by the Austrian Science Fund’s program for artistic research (PEEK). She is currently writing her PhD thesis at the Department of Media Theory, University of Applied Arts in Vienna on the contemporary usage of obsolete media and technologies, supervised by Gabriele Jutz. Her transdisciplinary approach to photography, film, and music is based on the methods of media archaeology and brings together artistic and amateur practices. Nina Jukić is also a singer and pianist, performing original music (don_t go) as well as jazz (The Juke Swing Band). She has co-written and performed music for theatre plays Šarengrad (by R. C. Gatica, Teatar &TD, Zagreb; Jury Award for Best Original Music at the „Marulićevi dani“ Theatre Festival in Split, 2012) and Reject Your Soul (by Psilicone Theatre, Lithuania). Furthermore, she takes analogue photographs and makes LomoKino movies. Nina Jukić holds an MA in musicology (Music Academy, University of Zagreb, 2010) and an MA in art history and English (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, 2012). She has given talks at a number of international academic conferences and was the recipient of several awards and scholarships during her studies, including the Zagreb University Rector’s Award.
