Dominik Ivancic
Dominik Ivancic works as an project assistant (before: student assistant) at the research project SONIME – Sonic Memories. Audio Letters in Times of Migration and Mobility, which is located at the Department of Media Theory since May 2024 and funded by the Austrian Academy of Science (Heritage Science Austria).
He studied history (University of Vienna, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), comparative literature (University of Vienna) and language arts (University of Applied Arts Vienna).
He worked in several institutions as an educator and research associate (e. g. House of Austrian History, Literature Museum of the Austrian National Library).
In addition, he organized several conferences for (under)graduate scientists (under.docs), was co-editor of the conference proceedings Future in Progress and of the literature anthology IO. 10 Jahre Institut für Sprachkunst.
He works as a writer and won the Track 5 Ö1 short radio play competition 2016 with the radio play “Sollbruchstelle” and the third price at the “Hörspielsommer” 2024 in Leipzig with the radio play “Die Wohnmaschine” and was awarded the project scholarship for literature from the City of Vienna 2021 and 2023. He publishes in literature magazines, anthologies and conference proceedings.
His play “Reibung” was performed at the “Dramatiker*innenfestival” 2018 in Graz and his (radio) play “Wohnmaschine” was performed at the “Wiener Lichtblicke Festival” 2022 and was played at the “Hörspieltage” 2024 in Krems, at the “Hörspielsommer” 2024 in Leipzig and on three radio stations (Radio Mephisto 976, Radio Blau, Radio Funkalow).
